Tems wins Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has won the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy Awards.

He won the award for his song Love Me JeJe, beating Yemi Alade's Tomorrow, Asake's MMS featuring Wizkid, Chris Brown's Sensational featuring Davido and Lojay, and Burna Boy's Higher.

This is Tems' second Grammy win.

South Africa's Tyla won the award for her song Water in 2024 in the first edition of the category.

Tems received three nominations at this year's Grammys, bringing his career total to eight.   He was also nominated for Best International Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning).
